why would you wrap your baby in it?
Instructions for washing cloth diapers the healthy, environmentally friendly way:
For new cloth diapers:
Wash (and dry) new cloth diapers 3 times with 1/8 amount of liquid laundry detergent (about 2 tablespoons).
Washing dirty cloth diapers:
- Rinse or shake off excess fecal matter from diapers into toilet.
- Soak cloth diapers in cold water for 30 minutes with a cup of baking soda.
- Wash diapers in hot water with 1/8 amount of liquid laundry detergent plus a cup of baking soda. Fill fabric softener spot of washing machine with regular white vinegar.
- Dry cloth diapers on normal heat (or line dry).
For tough stains:
Hang cloth diapers outside in direct sunlight starting in the morning and leave them out until evening. Diapers should be wet when hung outside. Spray lemon juice on tough stains before hanging.
For heavily soiled cloth diapers, wash with hot water and blue Dawn dish soap.
